The Federation of IT Industry Sri Lanka popularly known as FITIS offers its members a unique opportunity to create ICT partnerships. In finding new regional partners ICT companies can now join the business exchange and multilateral trade visit programs they offer through their regional body ASSOCIO.

A multilateral trade visit to Macao has been organized under this and FITIS members are offered free accommodation and subsidized airfare to take part in this event. The event is scheduled to be held from 15th to 17th July 2010 and will include meetings with members of Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, site visits, participation at the Communic Macao 2010 exhibition held at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf Exhibition Center, China. Interested ICT firms are requested to contact the FITIS Secretariat on 2665262 as only a limited number of opportunities are left.

Established in 1984, ASOCIO (The Asian Oceanian Computing Industry Organization) is a group of industry associations coming from various economies in Asia and Oceania region. At present, ASOCIO represents the interests of 28 economies that include Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. Seven other major countries are also affiliated to ASOCIO through guest members. ASOCIO’s members account for more than 10,000 ICT companies and represent a US$ 300 Billion ICT revenue in the region. FITIS being the unified industry body for local ICT industry represents ASOCIO in Sri Lanka.

Established in 1996, FITIS is the umbrella organization which consists of five chapters accommodating four leading industry associations and a professional body in the ICT industry. FITIS is currently organizing its flagship industry event INFOTEL 2010 which will take place at BMICH from 1st to 4th October 2010 with several other national and corporate events starting from the middle of September, a spokesman of FITIS said.
